I feel like my little corner of Tumblr is drying up.

My dashboard doesn’t fill up anywhere near as quickly as it used to. Most evenings, it grinds to a slow crawl. And I’m fairly certain that, of my nearly 600 supposed followers, barely a quarter of them actually read my posts, or even use Tumblr at all.

Did everyone get lives? Move on to another corner of the web? Tumblr is supposedly still successful. Is this just happening within my little sphere of followers/those I’m following? Admittedly, I don’t use Tumblr as much these days either, but I wouldn’t have expected many other people to follow suit, all of a sudden. Ever since the summer, everything just seems increasingly more dead. I’m just puzzled, is all.

So, what gives?

Okay, so I got caught up on this show between last night and this morning (I have no life, clearly) and here is what I have to say:

I think I’m in love with it.

Abed is hilarious.

The Halloween episode was the best.

I nearly died when I fell off my bed while laughing at the last 5 minutes of said episode.

Joel McHale, do me now.

First of all, I completely missed the “Special Drink” lines. For years, I’ve been putting Swiss Miss cocoa mix into cold milk and drinking it as is. I always enjoyed it because, aside from the chocolate-flavored milk, a lot of the mix would rise to the top, creating a thick top layer of moistened powder, which I would consume with a spoon. No one else ever seemed to do this, so this reference makes me smile. Henceforth, it shall be called “Special Drink.”

And second, I’m shocked that it’s taken you this long to watch the show, Wendy. Shocked. It’s actually taken me a while to fully warm up to it, as the first few episodes struck me as being merely “okay.” The last few episodes however, especially last night’s, have cemented Community as something that I like very much.

(All right, I’m talking too much, but I need to make a third point: Chevy Chase was hilarious in the most recent episode. Over the years, I’ve come to think of him as a has-been, since he hasn’t done much of note in recent years and, well, that’s how everyone else seems to think of him. But dammit, if last night’s episode is any indication, the man still has it. A lot.)

If you want to know why the Star Wars Uncut project — in which fans reconstruct the original Star Wars by filming 10- to 20-second scenes in whatever style they choose — is utterly brilliant and full of endless potential, look no further than this clip. It took me around 5-10 seconds to realize which scene they were depicting, but when it hit, it hit hard. Just incredible.

Yeah. I made another theme tumblelog. This one’s more for me, though I of course want you to follow it. It’s basically a place for me to complain about the modern incarnation of Weezer and keep track of all the acts of increasing lunacy carried out by Rivers Cuomo.

If you like Weezer, my complaining might bother you, unless you have a sense of humor about the band. But if you miss the Weezer that made The Blue Album and Pinkerton, or just enjoy goofy-ass musicians, then you might like this thing.

How did my hatred for the Yankees reach this point? I have an actual bloodlust for the Yankees. I want them utterly destroyed. And not just the Yankees, but all of New York. The entire state of New York. I want the entire state of New York gone. Now. I am willing it into the cornfield right now, as we speak. If New York disappears in the night, either neatly or in a smoking crater, you may come calling on me, for the sheer force and power of my hatred will have apparently removed it and its citizens from this earth.
