The 2009 Comic-Con poster for ‘Jonah Hex’

The teaser poster for next year’s ‘Jonah Hex’ film premiered at Comic-Con, but Yahoomovies has premiered the poster online.

I don’t think you understand what things like this do to me. Of course, I’m a nerd, a geek, a dork, whatever — that’s a given. But to see one’s obscure interests, those things that you never expect anyone of any importance, or even anyone at all, to care about or even acknowledge, given attention and promotion? That’s when the real geeky giddiness comes in.

Ever since I saw Jonah Hex on Batman: The Animated Series many years ago, I’ve had a casual but no less heartfelt interest in the character. That he’s getting his own movie makes me ecstatic. Between this and Tron, one of my slightly more intense (semi-)obscure obsessions, 2010 is going to be one hell of a year.
